About now, I start hedging bets on when our first big snowstorm of the season will be. I think December 29 is going to bring a whopper. We’ll see. I’m often wrong about these things, but something tells me that we’re in for a big one on that day.

Southampton Historical Museum volunteers Bob Beck, John Griffin, Gerald T. Adams and Howard Reisman were recently working hard at preserving headstones in the North End Cemetery located between North Sea Road and Windmill Lane. The land was acquired by the Town Trustees, most likely after the Old Burying Ground, located on Little Plains Road, had been filled. The museum is seeking donations to restore and preserve this cemetery and several others in the community. Call 283-2494 if you would like to donate to the project.
