Arrests
Courtney Garneau, 41, of East Hampton was arrested on November 16 at 2:32 a.m. at Old Northwest Road and Stephen Hands Path in East Hampton and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police said they responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident at the intersection where a car had run off the road and struck a tree. Police said when they approached Ms. Garneau, who complained of pain in her nose where the airbag hit her, she admitted she had been drinking. Police said they sent Ms. Garneau to Southampton Hospital by ambulance, where she was given a blood test and arrested. Ms. Garneau was released on her own recognizance.
Michael Pour, 55, of East Hampton was arrested on November 17 at 9:30 a.m. at Cove Hollow Road and Route 114 in East Hampton and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police said they stopped Mr. Pour after he failed to signal when turning right at the intersection. Police said he failed sobriety tests. Mr. Pour was released on his own recognizance.
An East Hampton man, 17, was arrested on November 15 at 9:38 p.m. at the Atlantic Beach Parking Lot on Bluff Road and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. Police said they pulled into the parking lot and saw the man’s vehicle in the back of the lot with its headlights turned off. They said as officers approached the car, the man turned on his lights and started to drive away. When officers stopped the man, police said they could smell marijuana and upon searching the car they found a white sock with a clear plastic bag inside that contained marijuana and two glass pipes with residue that tested positive for marijuana. He was released on his own recognizance.
Police arrested Rodrigo Xot Tocay, 22, of East Hampton on Saturday at 7:32 p.m. at Accabonac Road and Abrahams Path in East Hampton and charged him with DWI and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree, both misdemeanors. Police said Mr. Xot Tocay was driving with a taillight out and when they stopped him, a check of his license showed it had been suspended. Police said he failed sobriety tests and admitted to having four or five drinks within an hour. Bail was set at $100.
Police arrested two East Hampton men, both 24, on November 16 at 1:25 p.m. at Arbor Path and Old Stone Highway in Amagansett and charged them with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. Police said they saw their car parked at the end of Arbor Path and when they approached they smelled marijuana from outside the vehicle. Police said when the driver got out of his car they saw a plastic bag containing a green substance, and the man admitted it was his marijuana. Police said when they searched the vehicle they found a glass jar, and two additional bags of marijuana and the man’s passenger also had a bag of marijuana on him. Police said the men were released on their own recognizance.
Thomas Andres, 49, of East Hampton was arrested on November 16 at 7:27 p.m. at Springs-Fireplace Road and Woodbine Drive in Springs and charged with criminal contempt in the first degree, a felony, and harassment in the second degree, a violation. Police said they responded to a Springs residence where they said Mr. Andres violated an order of protection against him when he threw a remote control at his wife. Police said the order of protection expires in August 2010. Police said that during the arrest Mr. Andres stated he tossed the remote control at his wife because she was nagging him. Bail was set at $750.
Police arrested Pedro Rivera-Ortiz, 44, of East Hampton on November 17 at 8:46 p.m. at his residence on Sherwood Lane in East Hampton and charged him with criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree, and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, both felonies. Police said they arrested Mr. Rivera-Ortiz as part of a joint investigation with the Suffolk County District Attorney East End Drug Task Force and that during a search of his residence Mr. Rivera-Ortiz admitted to having a controlled substance in his pocket and said it was for personal use. Police said they found a plastic bag containing cocaine. Mr. Rivera-Ortiz was taken to East Hampton Town Police headquarters and held on $50,000 bail or a $100,000 bond.
Police arrested Patrick Forde, 47, of East Hampton on Thursday, November 19, at 5 p.m. at Old Montauk Highway and Arnold Court in Montauk and charged him with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree, a misdemeanor. Police said they stopped Mr. Forde for crossing over a double yellow line and a DMV check of his license showed it had been suspended twice for paying neither child support nor a separate fine. Police said bail was set at $100.
Incidents
An East Hampton man, 47, reported that between November 7 and November 17 the East Hampton residence he is responsible for was vandalized. Police said he found nine glass doors, five windows on the first floor and three windows on the second floor broken. Police said they also found two damaged tables that had been used to break the second floor windows. Police estimated that $8,800 worth of damage was done.
