Westhampton Beach
A Main Street business owner called Westhampton Beach Village Police at 5:40 p.m. last Thursday, November 19, to report that someone had broken the glass cover of a lamppost on Main Street. The damage was estimated at $85.
A 14-year-old boy was arrested by Westhampton Beach Village Police at 9 a.m. on Friday, November 20, and charged with second-degree assault, a felony. The Westhampton Beach High School student was arrested after attacking another male student on November 16 near the school. The victim suffered a cut on his neck, an “extremely swollen” right eye, a cut on his lip and redness around his left eye. He was transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead, according to police. The attacker was released on an appearance ticket that is returnable to Suffolk County Family Court.
A 15-year-old girl was arrested by Westhampton Beach Village Police at 12:48 p.m. on Friday, November 20, and charged with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor. The girl, also a student at Westhampton Beach High School, attacked another female student on November 17 at the high school, police said. The victim told police that her attacker shoved her against a locker, punched her in the face and scratched her arms. The attacker was released on an appearance ticket that is returnable to Suffolk County Family Court.
A resident of Dune Road called Westhampton Beach Village Police at 3:36 p.m. on Saturday, November 21, after someone dumped garbage in the home’s driveway and damaged two floodlights.
