As a part of the school district’s “Living Book Fair” program, children’s book author Brian Heinz of Wading River will host assemblies for all grade levels on Friday, December 4, at Dayton Avenue Elementary School in Manorville. Mr. Heinz will discuss several of his works and numerous facets of writing and publishing in this genre.
The program continues with a “Meet the Authors and Illustrators Night” on Tuesday, December 8, at 6 p.m., at the Eastport South Manor Junior-Senior High School on Moriches-Middle Island Road in Manorville. Thirty-three local authors and illustrators will be on hand to discuss their craft and also sign copies of their books. A buffet will be served prior to the event at 5 p.m.
The South Manor PTA will host a Holiday Breakfast on Saturday, December 5, from 9 a.m. until noon, at Dayton Avenue Elementary School in Manorville.
The Eastport South Manor Athletic Booster Club will meet on Thursday, December 3, at 7 p.m., at the high school.
Members of the Eastport South Manor Music Booster Club will meet on Monday, December 7, at 7:30 p.m., also at the high school.
The Board of Education will meet on Wednesday, December 9, at 8 p.m., at the high school on Moriches-Middle Island Road in Manorville.
A Holiday Read-Aloud will be offered on Thursday, December 10, from 6:30 until 7:30 p.m., for students attending the South Street Elementary School in Manorville. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
