Three men were charged with felony drug possession after police found their vehicle full of drugs during a traffic stop in Riverhead early Saturday morning.
New York State Police arrested Jonathan Pressley, 18, and his brother, Joshua Pressley, 20, both of Southampton, and Denzel T. Faines, 18, of Bellport after State Police detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle during a traffic stop on County Road 105 at 1:20 a.m. on Saturday, police said. Joshua Pressley, who was driving the car, was pulled over for several vehicle and traffic law violations, according to authorities.
When police searched the 2004 Cadillac CTS, they said they found 58 tablets of ecstasy, 13 grams of crack cocaine, 41 grams of marijuana, and 2 ounces of liquid codeine.
The three men were each charged with two counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and one count of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. Additionally, Joshua Pressley was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor, and an additional count of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Mr. Faines was charged with an additional count of fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, according to police.
The three men were arraigned in Riverhead Town Justice Court Saturday morning. Joshua Pressley was released after posting $10,000 bail while the other two men were remanded to Suffolk County Jail in Riverside. They are each being held in lieu of $10,000 bail.
Cops Arrest East Quogue Man
An East Quogue man was arrested after trying to steal used car parts from a salvage yard in broad daylight on Saturday.
Southampton Town Police arrested Adam Ruszcyzk, 26, after employees at J&V Auto Salvage on South Country Road in Quiogue saw him stealing about $100 in used car parts from the yard and tossing them over the fence at 10:53 a.m. Police said Mr. Ruszcyzk had stolen a heater control unit and two mirrors before he was arrested and charged with petit larceny, a misdemeanor.
Mr. Ruszcyzk was taken to Southampton Town Police headquarters in Hampton Bays and released after posting $250 bail, police said. He is scheduled to return to court at a later date.
