Bonacker bowlers beat Southampton

The Southampton bowling team suffered its first loss of the season in League V against East Hampton at East Hampton Bowl on Thursday, December 10, falling 21-12.

East Hampton won the first game 994-887, the Mariners won the second game 982-829 and the Bonackers won the final game 918-861. East Hampton had a 2,741-2,730 edge in total wood.

East Hampton was led by Andrew Payne, who had a 643 series with a high game of 223 while teammate Michael Rawleigh had a 604 series with a high game of 233.

For Southampton, Luke Powers led the way with a 601 series and a high game of 247. Kyle Robinson rolled a 572 series, Eric Miller rolled a 543 series, A.J. Distefano had a 511 series and Kristina Knoebel had a 503 series.

Before beating Southampton, the Bonackers edged Westhampton Beach 18-15 at East Hampton Bowl on Tuesday, December 8. East Hampton lost the first two games with scores of 828-739 and 794-763 but rebounded with an 883-684 win in the final game, giving them a 2,385-2,306 lead in total wood.

Ricky Nardo led East Hampton (2-1) with a 517 series. Westhampton Beach was led by Zach Laube, who rolled a 569 series with a high game of 256. Francesco Logozzo rolled a 501 series.

The Mariners (3-1) earned a 28-5 win over Rocky Point on the same day at Port Jefferson Bowl. The Mariners swept all three games with scores of 795-703, 788-725 and 985-845 with a 2,568-2,273 lead in total wood.

Luke Powers rolled a 655 series to lead the Mariners with a high game of 247. Eric Miller had a 566 series with a high game of 245.

Westhampton Beach and ESM

Westhampton Beach failed to pick up a win, falling to 0-4 after suffering a 27-6 loss to Southold at the Wildwood Lanes on Thursday, December 10. Southold won all three games with scores of 879-781, 941-937 and 865-802, taking a 2,685-2,520 lead in total wood. Laube led the Hurricanes with a 601 series and a high game of 223.

The Sharks, meanwhile, improved to 2-1 with a 29-4 win over Rocky Point at Shirley Bowl on the same day. ESM swept the three games with scores of 996-790, 933-788 and 803-768 for a commanding 2,732-2,346 advantage in total wood.

Nick Michel rolled a 595 series with a high game of 245 to lead the Sharks while Steven Obraitis rolled a 573 and Anthony Ricci had a 567 series.

Southampton will host Mt. Sinai at East Hampton Bowl on Thursday, December 17, and East Hampton will visit Southold on Monday, December 21, at the Wildwood Lanes. On Tuesday, December 15, East Hampton was slated to host Rocky Point, Westhampton Beach was scheduled to face Mt. Sinai at Port Jefferson Bowl and Southampton was slated to visit Southold at the Wildwood Lanes. East Hampton was scheduled to take on ESM at Shirley Bowl on Wednesday, December 16.
