Westhampton Beach
Two teenage boys were arrested by Westhampton Beach Village Police at a house on Liberty Street at 9:53 p.m. on Wednesday, December 9, after they attacked a 16-year-old boy who lives at the home. The father of the victim told police he heard noises in his kitchen that night and saw two boys, a 16-year-old and 17-year-old, fighting with his son. The man said he tried to break up the fight while his wife called 911. Police said the 16-year-old, who damaged a door and a wall and broke a chair, was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, a felony, and second-degree criminal trespass, a misdemeanor. The damage was estimated at $1,500. The 17-year-old was charged with second-degree criminal trespass, a misdemeanor. No injuries were reported and both teenagers were released on their own recognizance, according to authorities.
Romana Grant-Gabriele, 52, of Eastport was arrested by Westhampton Beach Village Police at 10:25 a.m. last Thursday, December 10, and charged with second-degree criminal contempt, a misdemeanor, after violating an order of protection. Police said Ms. Grant-Gabriele called a 52-year-old woman who had an order of protection filed against her. She turned herself in at police headquarters on Mill Road and was released on $250 bail.
Westhampton Beach Village Police confiscated three cases of beer from four teenagers on Oak Street at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 12. An officer on patrol noticed two cars blocking the entrance to the Oak Street Condominiums and stopped to question the teenagers when he saw the beer. The teenagers, two 16-year-olds from Westhampton, a 16-year-old from East Quogue and a 15-year-old from Remsenburg, were not charged with a crime.
