“Once again, we come to the holiday season, a deeply religious time that each of us observes, in his own way, by going to the mall of his choice.”

Yes, satirist Dave Barry said it best.

And on that note, enjoy yourselves over the holidays. Be safe, be merry and be at peace with the world around you.

The winners of the eighth annual Westhampton Beach Holiday Lighting Contest have been announced! For the homeowner category, the Belson residence on Sunset Avenue claimed first place. Second place was awarded to the Regina household on Brook Road, and the third-place award went to the folks at 219 Montauk Highway. The village committee apologizes for not including your last name, but members could not immediately get in touch with you!

Micole’s Restaurant on Montauk Highway in Westhampton Beach took top honors in the business category. Beach Bakery Cafe on Main Street snagged second place and South Winds Bed and Breakfast on Potunk Lane nabbed third place.

Congratulations to all of the winners who lit up the night with extraordinary displays of holiday cheer.
