As part of an “amnesty period” following Saturday’s storm, Southampton Town residents can drop off brush and branches up to 3 inches in diameter for free at the town’s transfer stations until Sunday, Highway Superintendent Alex Gregor announced this week.

There are transfer stations on Majors Path in North Sea, on Jackson Avenue in Hampton Bays, and on Old Country Road in Westhampton.

Except for the Westhampton station, which is closed on Wednesdays, the stations are open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Hello? Sag Harbor has a transfer station, too. Just ignore the poor signage on the Sag Harbor-Bridgehampton Tpke. And the conflicting signs about being open Wednesdays, or not!

Do you live in the Town of Suthampton? (Easthampton) You would know that the Dump is run by someone else and Gregor, at this time does not run the dump. Sure you can take the info up with the right person. If you live in Easthampton go to your own dump! If they still have enough money to have it open?

Big Whoop! How about extending it until the end of the month so people who only get a chance to do yard work on the weekends can take advantage of the freebie?
