Anna Tonna, mezzo soprano, and Francisco Roldán, classical guitarist, will present “Belleza: A concert of beautiful songs” (“Un Concierto de bellas obras”) from Colombia, Brazil, Puerto Rico, Spain and the Dominican Republic on Sunday, May 7, at 3:30 p.m. at Montauk Library. The songs will be sung in Spanish.

Roldán and Tonna’s long standing collaboration showcases composers from the Caribbean, South America and Central America, as well as both historical and contemporary pieces from the United States and Europe. Presenting well known masters of Latin American guitar in the genre of song, Belleza features works by Heitor Villa-Lobos from Brazil, Ernesto Cordero from Puerto Rico, Leo Brouwer from Cuba, Elliot Carter from the United States, as well as Negro Spirituals, Mexico’s Manuel Ponce, Spain’s Joaquín Rodrigo and Colombian composer Jaime León.
