The second annual Amagansett Free Library’s Art/History/Amagansett Conversation Series will conclude on October 1 at 6 p.m. with a program that features sculptor, Alice Aycock. Mark Segal, a culture writer for The East Hampton Star will interview her.
Throughout her career, Ms. Aycock’s work has been displayed in the MoMA, the Whitney, Louis Vuitton Foundation, Storm King Art Center, Omi International Arts Center and the Sprengel Museum in Germany, and locally at LongHouse Reserve in East Hampton.
Ms. Aycock’s large-scale pieces can be viewed at JFK Airport, East River Park Pavilion, the San Francisco Public Library, waterfront in Nashville, Tennesee, Dulles International Airport and Coral Gables, Florida. Soon her work will be installed at MGM Grand, National Harbor and Pier 27 in Toronto. “Park Avenue Paper Chase,” was installed on Park Avenue in 2014, in association with Galerie Thomas Schulte in Berlin. Ms. Aycock will have a solo exhibition at the Marlborough Gallery in New York City in October 2017.
The Art/History/Amagansett series holds Saturday “conversations” that take a closer look at art, artists and cultural organizations on the East End and the Sunday Seminars focus on the business of art and all programs are free and open to the public.
