Immerse yourself in a global jazz journey at the Art Center at Duck Creek with the award-winning pianist and composer Arcoiris Sandoval, who performs at 6 p.m. on Thursday, August 1. Led by her dynamic quartet, Sonic Asylum, Sandoval promises a captivating performance that blends diverse influences.

Hailing from Tucson, Arizona, Sandoval is a rising star in the jazz world. Now residing in New York City, she leads her own trio and quintet project, Sonic Asylum, and co-directs the multimedia orchestra, The D.O.M.E. Experience. Through music, choreography and cinematography, D.O.M.E. tackles environmental and social issues. Sandoval’s impressive resume includes touring with acclaimed vocalist Allan Harris and performances with the Mingus Big Band. Her debut album “First Voyage” with the Sonic Asylum Trio won a Global Music Award in 2018.

The music is free and concertgoers are encouraged to bring a beach chair and a picnic to enjoy the evening under the stars. In case of rain, the concert will be moved to Duck Creek’s barn, with limited seating available inside on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Art Center at Duck Creek is at 127 Squaw Road in East Hampton. Admission is free, but space is limited, so arrive early. Visit duckcreekarts.org for details.
