What better way to celebrate summer in Sag Harbor than a party under a tent on Long Wharf? An Art for the Park Auction at the Big Tent: Party for the Park will be held on Sunday, July 10 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Long Wharf, sponsored by the Sag Harbor Partnership. The auction will feature almost 60 artists with their best work for sale.

Sag Harbor galleries participating in the event, which will support the creation of a public park at the foot of the Lance Corporal Jordan C Haerter Veterans Memorial Bridge, include The Grenning Gallery, Monika Olko Gallery, RJD Gallery, Romany Kramoris Gallery and Tulla Booth Gallery.

The art sale will be powered by the online auction house, Paddle8, and can be accessed at paddle8.com/auction/sagharborpartnership/. The prices will begin at half the retail value, with opening bids between $75 and $4,000. The auction went live on June 24.

There will also be a teen photography contest centered around Sag Harbor that will be on display at Dodds and Eder. Artists Eric Fischl and Ralph Gibson will serve as the judges.

“The quality of the work submitted by the Pierson kids blows my mind. I’m just so impressed by their intelligence and sophistication,” Mr. Fischl said. “The whole community coming together to celebrate itself and this vision of the Park is absolutely inspirational, and I’m proud to participate.”

The Sag Harbor Fire Department is providing their grills for a BBQ, and music by the HooDoo Loungers will be playing throughout the night!

Tickets for the Big Tent: Party for the Park are $50 for adults and $10 for children in advance, and $60 and $15 at the door. You can purchase tickets at sagharborpartnership.org, as well as at the Sag Harbor Liquor Store, The Wharf Shop, and Youngblood in downtown Sag Harbor.
