This past spring, The Suffolk launched its very first movie series — showing recently released movies once a month on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. This fall, The Suffolk is ramping it up with more movies each month that include both blockbuster hits as well as classic favorites. And of course, food and drinks are available to order throughout the night — making for one of the most unique movie-going experiences available on Long Island. “The Devil’s Rejects” – Wednesday, October 4
A sequel to Rob Zombie’s “House of 1000 Corpses” (2003), this 2005 black comedy centers around the run of three members of the psychopathic antagonist family from the previous film, now seen as villainous protagonists, with Sid Haig, Bill Moseley, and Zombie’s wife Sheri Moon Zombie reprising their roles.
“Friday the 13th” – Friday, October 13
This 1980 classic independent slasher film, produced and directed by Sean S. Cunningham, stars Betsy Palmer, Adrienne King, Harry Crosby, Laurie Bartram, Mark Nelson, Jeannine Taylor, Robbi Morgan and Kevin Bacon. This Halloween fan-favorite follows a group of teenage camp counselors who are murdered one by one by an unknown killer while attempting to reopen an abandoned summer camp with a tragic past.
“Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3” – Wednesday, October 18
This 2023 fantasy comedy features Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Will Poulter, Sean Gunn, Chukwudi Iwuji, Linda Cardellini, Nathan Fillion and Sylvester Stallone. Still reeling from the loss of Gamora, Peter Quill rallies his team to defend the universe and one of their own — a mission that could mean the end of the Guardians if not successful.
“Hocus Pocus” – Sunday, October 22
This 1993 family friendly classic starring Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy follows the infamous Sanderson sisters after they return to life thanks to the accidental actions of Max, the new-kid-in-town.
“Asteroid City” – Wednesday, October 25
Wes Anderson’s latest film that features Jason Schwartzman, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, Bryan Cranston and Jeffrey Wright. The movie follows a writer on his world-famous fictional play about a grieving father who travels with his tech-obsessed family to small rural Asteroid City to compete in a junior stargazing event.
