Lilee Fell, Liz Joyce and Sara Nightingale represented Sag Harbor in the classic yacht division at Grenada Sailing Week from January 29 through February 3. Sailing aboard The Blue Peter, a 65-foot wooden yacht designed by Alfred Mylne and built in 1930, the three sailors, who are all volunteer directors of Breakwater Yacht Club, assisted with tactics, logistics and sail trim, helping The Blue Peter win two out of five races in the series and second place overall in the classic division. There were 11 crew members in total.

The Blue Peter will be in Sag Harbor on June 2 to compete in the 36th annual Sag Harbor Cup Benefit Regatta, which is hosted by Breakwater and open to all boats. And while the charter crew positions are filled for the Sag Harbor Cup, recreational charters can be arranged in other locations from Newport to Maine.
“We always attract a fun bunch for these regattas with hugely different sailing abilities,” said Mathew Barker, who owns The Blue Peter. “My challenge is to put them in the right positions on the boat to make the most of their skills.”
The yacht travels the globe annually competing in events in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean, as well as on the East Coast of the U.S. To arrange for a charter, contact Barker at thebluepeter@me.com.
