“Coppelia” is a springtime comedy, spinning a tale that follows the courtship of Swanhilda and Franz, and the doll, Coppelia, who Franz mistakenly courts, after viewing her from afar. Dr. Coppelius, a doll-maker who has created Coppelia, brings comedy to the stage with his bumbling antics. The villagers bring alive traditional dances in Act One and the “Festival of the Bell” in Act 3.

The score is by Leo Delibes, with the ballet is choreographed by the director of HBTS, Sara Jo Strickland and includes costumes designed and hand sewn by Yuka Silvera with lighting design by Sebastian Paczynski. Guest artists include Nicholas Sipes dancing the role of Franz and Adam and Gail Baranello of A&G Dance Company dancing the divertissment, “War.” Rose Kelly, an advanced professional student at HBTS will be dancing the lead role of Swanhilda.

Advanced tickets are $20 for children 12 and under, and $25 for adults in general orchestra seating. Day of performance tickets sales are $25 for children and $30 for adults for regular orchestra seating. Premium orchestra, box seats, balcony and group rates are also available.
