Award-Winning New York City saxophonist Daniel Bennett and his band will perform at the John Jermain Memorial Library in Sag Harbor on July 30 at 2 p.m.

Bennett has been hailed as one of the most original and unpredictable musical voices of his generation. The Daniel Bennett Group is celebrating the release of its 9th studio album, titled New York Nerve.

Bennett will be joined in the concert by master percussionist Koko Bermejo on drums and keyboard and acclaimed bassist Kevin Hailey. The Daniel Bennett Group was recently voted Best New Jazz in New York City’s Hot House Magazine. Bennett played woodwinds in “Blank! The Musical,” the first fully improvised musical to launch on a national stage. He also orchestrated the music for “Whitman at the Whitney,” a stage adaptation of the poetry of Walt Whitman. The production debuted at the Whitney Museum in New York City. Daniel Bennett’s genre-bending sound has captivated audiences throughout the world.

John Jermain Memorial Library is at 201 Main Street, Sag Harbor. For more information about the concert, visit johnjermain.org or call 631-725-0049.
