Building on a holiday tradition in Quogue, the Hampton Theatre Company will once again present “A Christmas Carol: A Live Radio Play” on the stage of the Quogue Community Hall for one weekend only, December 12 to 14.

Adapted from the timeless Charles Dickens novel by playwright Joe Landry, with music by Kevin Connors, this family-friendly version runs approximately 45 to 60 minutes and will recreate for live audiences the convivial energy of a 1940s-era radio troupe, complete with music and sound effects generated onstage and in the booth. Complimentary cookies and hot chocolate and a joyous singalong with the troupe will complete the celebration.

Actors from the HTC family of players — including Andrew Botsford, Rosemary Cline, George A. Loizides, Nicholas Auletti, Scott Butler, Stephanie Moreau and Lindsey Sanchez — will each take on multiple roles in the story and present vintage radio commercials, performing in period costumes on a set depicting the studio of the fictional “WBFR” radio station in 1940s New York City.

Presented as a Christmas Eve installment of WBFR’s weekly “Playhouse of the Air” series, “A Christmas Carol” serves up the timeless story of Ebenezer Scrooge, the inveterate miser from London who learns the meaning of charity and kindness over the course of one spooky and miraculous Christmas Eve, complete with visitations by the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future.

The production is directed by Botsford, with incidental music recorded by Dee Laveglia, lighting by Sebastian Paczynski and costumes by Teresa LeBrun.

“A Christmas Carol: A Live Radio Play” will be performed at the Quogue Community Hall, 125 Jessup Avenue, Quogue, on Friday, December 12, at 7 p.m., Saturday, December 13, at 2:30 p.m. and Sunday, December 14, at 2:30 p.m. Patrons are encouraged to arrive 30 minutes prior to the performance to enjoy complimentary hot cocoa and cookies served before the show.

All tickets are $18, available at hamptontheatre.org or by calling 631-653-8955.

Coming up in 2026, HTC’s 41st season continues with the Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt musical “I Do! I Do!” (running March 12 to 29) and “The 39 Steps” by Patrick Barlow (running May 21 to June 7).
