Hamptons International Film Festival To Screen Oscar-Nominated Shorts At Bay Street Theater

author on Feb 7, 2017

The Hamptons International Film Festival is bringing all of this year’s Academy Award-nominated narrative short films to the big screen on Saturday, February 11, at Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor, including two shorts that were screened during the film festival in October.

“Borrowed Time,” “Pearl,” “Piper, “Blind Vaysha” and “Pear Brandy and Cigarettes,” which were all nominated for Best Animated Short Film will be screened, plus three additional noteworthy animated shorts. “Sing,” “Silent Nights,” “Timecode,” “Ennemis Intérieurs,” and “La Femme et le TGV,” from Hungary, Denmark, Spain, France and Switzerland, respectively, were all nominated for Best Live Action Short Film. “Blind Vaysha” and “Timecode” were official selections in the 2016 Hamptons International Film Festival.

Shorts HD and Magnolia Pictures put together the theatrical experience to bring short films to a wide audience prior to the Academy Awards airing on Sunday, February 26.

The cost is $14 to attend just the animated screenings or just the live action screenings, or $24 to catch all of the shorts. The entire line-up will be offered twice on Saturday: Animated at noon and live action at 2 p.m., then animated again at 5 p.m. and live-action at 7 p.m.

For tickets, visit baystreet.org or call 631-725-9500.
