Literary Meets Celebrity at Authors Night in East Hampton

Easily one of the summer season’s most celebrated events, East Hampton Library’s 12th Annual Authors Night benefit will take place on Saturday, August 13. The premier literary event of the Hamptons has grown in its history to become one of the nation’s leading annual literary events, featuring 100 authors across all genres.

Authors Night Founding Honorary Chair, Alec Baldwin, will be joined by 2016 Honorary Co-Chairs: Christie Brinkley, Robert A. Caro, Dick Cavett, Mary Higgins Clark, Nelson DeMille, Gwyneth Paltrow, Eric Ripert and Dr. Ruth Westheimer at this year’s event.

Other participating artists will include Kate Betts, Louis Begley, Douglas Brinkley, Tom Clavin, Scott Cowen, Delia Ephron, Florence Fabricant, Steven Gaines, Ina Garten, Paul Goldberger, Michael Gross, Ally Hilfiger, Amb. Christopher R. Hill, Katherine Holabird, Erica Jong, Jeffrey Lyons, Fern Mallis, Matt Marinovich, William Norwich, Chris Pavone, Ted Rall, Wade Rouse, Jean Shafiroff, Michael Shnayerson, Garth Stein, Michael Weiss, Marianne Williamson, and Vincente Wolf.

The evening will begin at 5 p.m. on the field at 4 Maidstone Lane in East Hampton Village with the Authors Book Signing Cocktail Reception under the tent, where guests will enjoy delicious hors d’oeuvres and wine and have the opportunity to meet and mingle with the authors, buy their books, and have them personally inscribed. At 8 p.m., directly following the Authors Reception, guests will be hosted at dinner parties at private homes in honor of one of the guest authors.

Tickets are $100 for the book signing reception only, and begin at $300 for the dinners, including entry to book signing reception. Tickets and complete event information are available online at authorsnight.org, at the East Hampton Library, and by phone at (631) 324-0222 x7.
