Music for Montauk summer series kicks off on Sunday, July 10, at 6 p.m. with Beethoven’s Piano Trio No. 5 in D Major (nicknamed the “Ghost” trio) at St. Therese of Lisieux. The concert features Hilary Castle, violinist and cellist Ani Kalayjian, with Miloš Repický at the piano. The program also features the witty and mercurial Piano Trio in G, No. 39 by Joseph Haydn and Czech composer Josef Suk’s majestic Elegie. “The acoustics at St. Therese are fantastic for chamber music, is perfect for the “Ghost” movement of the Beethoven piano trio and also for the majestic Suk Elegie, inspired by the majestic Prague Castle,” said Miloš Repicky.
The Summer Series continues at Fort Pond House on Wednesday, July 13, at 5 p.m. with a Garden Concert of Songs. Australian soprano Elena Perroni is joined by cellist Ani Kalayjian, pianist Miloš Repický and other special guests in an evening of songs to suit the idyllic setting. Admission is free. Bring a picnic and enjoy the music. Fort Pond House is in Carol Morrison Park, 128 Second House Road in Montauk.
Looking ahead, the Music for Montauk 2022 Summer Series culminates in a grand finale at the Montauk Lighthouse on Saturday, August 20, at 6 p.m. with Sounds of the Sea for Chamber Orchestra.
