John Lloyd Young is a classic Broadway performer who delivers a song with an immediacy and originality that makes even long-established hits feel like they’re unfolding in front of you for the very first time. He’s played to sold-out crowds of as Marius in “Les Misérables” at the Hollywood Bowl and was the first-ever guest star invited to appear on the TV show “Glee.” On August 19, at 8 p.m., Young comes to Bay Street Theater to perform “John Lloyd Young’s Broadway” as part of the Music Mondays summer series.

A Tony and Grammy award-winner, Young originated the role of Frankie Valli in “Jersey Boys” on Broadway. He garnered unprecedented accolades for the role, including one of the most exciting reviews ever written for The New York Times for an actor making his Broadway debut. He went on to win the Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and Theatre World awards as a lead actor, becoming the only American actor in history to win all four of those awards for his Broadway debut. He sings lead vocals on the original cast album of the show, and made his West End debut in the Frankie Valli role at London’s Piccadilly Theatre. Later, he also performed the role on-screen for director Clint Eastwood’s film adaptation of “Jersey Boys.”

Tickets for “John Lloyd Young’s Broadway,” with musical direction by Tommy Faragher, are $69 to $89. Call (631) 725-9500 to reserve or visit baystreet.org. Bay Street Theater is located on Long Wharf in Sag Harbor. Music Mondays continues with cabaret and fashion icon Isaac Mizrahi with his show “Queen Size” on August 26.
