The Bridgehampton Museum will present “New Space,” a solo exhibition by artist Jonathan Nash Glynn, opening with a public reception on Saturday, October 11, from 7 to 9 p.m.
The event will be held in the museum’s newly renovated Tractor Barn located on the Corwith House property, directly across from the Candy Kitchen in Bridgehampton. The reception offers an opportunity to engage with Glynn’s latest body of work, featuring large-scale acrylic paintings inspired by cosmic imagery.
“My newest works are large acrylic paintings inspired by the breathtaking images captured by the Hubble and Webb space telescopes,” Glynn said. “At the same time, I continue to explore my own inner space, searching for what art means to me.”
In celebration of the exhibition’s celestial themes, the opening will include a special stargazing experience presented in partnership with the Hamptons Observatory; weather permitting. Guests are invited to bring their own telescopes and join local astronomers in observing the night sky.
“I am thrilled to be partnering with both Jonathan and the Hamptons Observatory on this opening,” said Connor Flanagan, executive director of the Bridgehampton Museum. “We have spent a lot of time this summer, with the help of our friends at Marders, Sperry Tents and Water Mill Building Supply, along with some fantastic volunteers, to build out this new space in our barn to showcase ‘New Space.’”
The exhibition will remain on view through October 26, with gallery hours on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission to the opening and exhibit is free and open to the public. “New Space” is presented at the Corwith House property located at 2368 Montauk Highway in Bridgehampton.
