Our Fabulous Variety Show will host its first production of the year, “Tap: An Evening of Rhythm,” celebrating the history and art of tap dance May 11, 12 and 13 with performances at 7:30 p.m. at the John Drew Theater at Guild Hall in East Hampton.

Anita Boyer created the show in 2015 as a JDT Lab at Guild Hall with the second annual show in 2016 at the Southampton Cultural Center and at Stony Brook Southampton. “Tap: An Evening of Rhythm” aims to introduce people to the incredible world of tap from its historical roots to its many offshoots in the hopes to continue to spread the love and appreciation of this artistic dance style.

This show will feature professional tap dancers, Aaron Tolson and Anita Boyer, as well as Mr. Tolson’s tap dance company, Speaking in Taps, and the dancehampton Tap Army directed by Ms. Boyer. The preshow will showcase dancehampton's Tap Army competition tap numbers that have been awarded Platinum level awards, all choreographed by Ms. Boyer.

“Tap” will feature local talent from Manhattan to Montauk, from ages five to 80, presenting an eclectic evening of dance. The show will feature favorites like Shirley Temple, Bill Bojangles Robinson’s Stair Dance, Broadway showstoppers, jazzy quintets, modern rhythm and classic standards. Tickets run $25 to $55.

OFVS was founded by Ms. Boyer and Kasia Klimiuk in the fall of 2010 as a one time performance to raise funds and awareness for Crohn’s and Colitis disease and has since produced 16 other productions and continues to raise funds for local charities and scholarships at each show.

Guild Hall is located at 158 Main Street in East Hampton. For more information and tickets, please contact (631) 507-4603, ourfabulousvarietyshow@gmail.com or visit ourfabulousvarietyshow.org.
