The 2023 Rites of Spring Music Festival is gearing up for its new season, and now through late August will offer concerts across the East End.

The Opening Festival Concert on Sunday, May 14, at 5 p.m. will take place at Jamesport Meeting House in Jamesport. Titled “Luminous Beauty,” the concert features Yezu Woo, violin, Michael Davis, viola, Yi Qun Xu, cello and Paolo Bartolani, piano, performing the music of Mozart and Beethoven.

On Saturday, May 27, at 7 p.m., the festival presents “New Music Under the Big Sky” at Custer Astronomical Observatory in Southold. Musicians include Travis Laplante, saxes, Charles Overton, harp and Eduardo Leandro, percussion.

On Saturday, June 24, at 5 p.m., at Landcraft Garden Foundation in Mattituck, the festival presents “The Sound of the Earth,” music by Igor Stravinsky performed by pianists Vassily Primakov and Anna Lavrova.

On Thursday, July 13, from 5 to 8 p.m. “Music at the Village Green” will be presented on the Village Green in Cutchogue. The concert features music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart performed on oboe, violin, viola and cello.

Saturday, July 22, at 5 p.m. brings “Across American Roots” with music by Igor Stravinsky by the Copland Ensemble & Jazz Band at Sylvester Manor on Shelter Island.

The festival ends on Sunday, August 27, at 6 p.m. at McCall Vineyard in Cutchogue with a “Rustic Mid-Summer Concert” featuring Arnaud Sussmann, violin, and Paul Neubauer, viola, performing the music of Halvorsen, Rolla, Martinu, Mozart and Sibelius.
