Acclaimed soprano saxophonist and NEA Jazz Master Jane Ira Bloom will bring her boundary-pushing all-star quartet to The Church in Sag Harbor on Friday, August 29, at 7 p.m. for an evening of richly textured, emotionally resonant jazz. The concert is presented in conjunction with the 2025 Hamptons JazzFest.

Known for her poetic improvisation, groundbreaking use of sound technology, and deeply expressive style, Bloom is a Guggenheim Fellow, NEA Jazz Master, and recipient of the Charlie Parker Jazz Innovation Award. She has spent her career pushing the boundaries of the soprano saxophone. Her music is equal parts cerebral and emotionally resonant, weaving lyrical solos with spatial sound techniques and movement-inspired compositions.

The upcoming performance will feature a stellar lineup — including bassist Mark Elias, Matt Wilson on drums and Dawn Clement on piano. Together, the Jane Ira Bloom Quartet will present a concert combining original compositions with moments of spontaneous interplay and reinterpretation.

Tickets are $30 for general admission, $15 for youth and $50 for preferred seating at thechurchsagharbor.org. The Church is located at 48 Madison Street in Sag Harbor.
