Perhaps the greatest rock documentary ever made, Martin Scorsese’s “The Last Waltz” captures what was advertised as legendary rock group The Band’s final farewell concert appearance. Joined on stage by more than a dozen special guests, including Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Muddy Waters and Joni Mitchell, The Last Waltz started as a concert, but it became a celebration.
On Sunday, June 27, join Hamptons Doc Fest and the Southampton Arts Center (SAC) for an outdoor screening of “The Last Waltz” on the SAC grounds. The event begins at 7:30 p.m. with live music by the band JL Rolls the Dice featuring Randolph Hudson, Fred Gilde, Al Buonanno, Klyph Black and Jim Lawler, followed at 8:30 by the film screening.
Bring a beach chair or blanket and enjoy music under the stars. Tickets are $15 ($10 SAC members) at southamptonartscenter.org. The Southampton Arts Center is at 25 Jobs Lane, Southampton.
