Romany Kramoris Gallery in Sag Harbor will present the works of three local artists — Casey Chalem Anderson, Adriana Barone and Roger Sichel — from July 7 through July 28. A reception will be held for the artists on Saturday, July 9, from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

Casey Chalem Anderson is a Greenwich Village native who passionately creates oil paintings of and inspired by the Hamptons landscape and its natural forms. She splits her time between Sag Harbor and New York City, immersing herself in both natural and urban artistic worlds. Chalem Anderson can often be found at the beach, observing the changes in time, color, and weather, which manifest on her canvases as a balance between tranquility and visual stimulation. Her paintings are collected by those who wish to access that serenity and the emotional lift of color that her work so uniquely offers. The colors motivate her to create this parallel world in paint. These pieces are a creative interpretation of the ocean, where the artist feels most grounded.

Adriana Barone is a graduate of Pratt Institute. In 1994 Barone moved to Sag Harbor from New York City when she changed careers from art directing to energy healing. In addition to her healing practice she spends massive amounts of time art making.

“Today I am consumed with the challenge of the canvas … the challenge of bringing spontaneity, freedom and life force to my work by combining intuitive mark making, imagery, humor and a healthy dose of frustration and futility,” she said. “I paint to paint and I relish the breakthroughs when they happen and I sit in the struggle sometimes impatiently, sometimes hopeful that this too shall pass.”

Photographer, artist and festival producer, Roger Sichel’s prolific creative experience spans generations and genres. From creating one of New York’s first artistic film festivals with judges Andy Warhol, Gore Vidal and Milos Forman to producing rock concerts with the Doors, Four Seasons and Isaac Hayes nationwide, Sichel identifies most as a cultural observer and photographic journalist. Sichel has now entered the next phase of his artistic career and is choosing to explore neo-pop mixed media, inspired by his own life, as well as current events, while simultaneously preserving the legacy of his work in photojournalism.

Romany Kramoris Gallery is at 41 Main Street, Sag Harbor. For more information visit KramorisGallery.com.
