Thursday Talks At The Jewish Center Of The Hamptons

“The Salon” series at the Jewish Center of the Hamptons (JCOH) welcomes guest speakers for Thursday night talks throughout the summer.

The next talk on July 11, will be led by Paul Goldberger, an architectural critic and author, who will discuss his new book “Ballpark: Baseball in the American City.” In the book, the Pulitzer Prize-winning architecture critic explores the history of baseball through the stories of ever-changing ballparks.

On July 18, Lorraine Bracco, an Academy Award-nominated actress, and Angela LaGreca, an Emmy award-winning producer and comedian, will discuss the changing role of women in film and the effect of the #MeToo movement in Hollywood. Ms. Bracco is well known for her role in “Goodfellas” and as Tony Soprano’s psychiatrist in the “Sopranos.”

Faith Popcorn, the CEO of Brain Reserve and a best-selling author, and Susan L. Solomon, the CEO and founder of the New York Stem Cells Foundation, will “talk about the brave new world to come on July 25. Ms. Popcorn will apply her insights into cultural and business trends and Ms. Solomon will discuss cutting-edge stem cell research leading to clinical breakthroughs and cures for patients.

Additional guests for this series include Ron Delsener, chairman of Live Nation, on August 1; Stephen M. Silverman, veteran of Time Inc. and founding editor of People.com, with Steve Cuozzo, writer and New York Post editor on August 15; and Terrie Sultan, the director of the Parrish Art Museum, with artist Ross Bleckner on August 29.

All talks begin at 7 p.m. at JCOH, 44 Woods Lane, East Hampton. Free for JCOH members, nonmembers can purchase tickets in advance for $15 at jcoh.org/salon/.
