Late last week, Bay Street Theater announced that Steven Todrys has been elected Chair of the Board of Trustees as the theater embarks on its 25th Anniversary season.

Mr. Todrys relationship with Bay Street began more than 15 years ago as a subscriber and patron, and eventually he joined the board. Most recently Mr. Todrys made his mark as the head of the theater’s Finance & Audit Committee.

“As we begin our 25th Season, I am thrilled that Steve has agreed to take on this important role as Chair of our Board of Trustees,” says Tracy Mitchell, Bay Street Theater’s Executive Director. “Steve has already proven to be a driving positive force, and he played a key role as chair of our Finance & Audit Committee this past year. His knowledge combined with his extreme enthusiasm for all things ‘Bay Street’ made him the ideal candidate to follow in the footsteps of Ana Daniel who helped to create the theater as its Founding Chair.”

“Over my first two years as Artistic Director at Bay Street, I have so enjoyed getting to know and work with Steve as a member of our board,” says Bay Street Theater Artistic Director Scott Schwartz. “He is passionate about theater, and is a strong and inspiring leader. I'm thrilled to now have the opportunity to work with him as Chair as we move into our 25th Anniversary and beyond."

Mr. Todrys and his wife, Karol, live in Manhattan and have a home in Bridgehampton. They have two sons, a daughter-in-law and two grandchildren. He is a Senior Advisor at the investment bank, Evercore Partners, prior to which he was a law partner at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP.

“I am very excited to take on this role beginning with Bay Street’s 25th Anniversary season,” said Mr. Todrys. “We are coming off an exciting and successful 2015 and this year promises to be bigger and better. We have a great team in Tracy, Scott and Gary, great productions in process, and a dedicated and engaged board. Particular thanks go to Ana Daniel, my predecessor, for her leadership over the entire history of Bay Street and her continuing support.”
