Unforgettable Fire, considered the preeminent U2 tribute band in North America, will return to The Suffolk in Riverhead on Saturday, September 27, at 8 p.m.

Formed on New Year’s Day in 1995, Unforgettable Fire was among the first U2 tribute bands to perform in the United States. Over the past two decades, the group has built a strong reputation for recreating the experience of a live U2 concert, complete with authentic sound, lighting and wardrobe.

In 2015, the band gained national attention when U2 members The Edge and Adam Clayton made a surprise appearance during a UF performance at The Cutting Room in New York City. The two joined the band onstage, playing two songs during a celebration for the 20th anniversary of U2 fan site “@U2.”

Drummer George Levesanos, a founding member, continues to perform with the group. He is joined by lead vocalist Tony Russo who joined in 2001 and is known as one of the top Bono look-alikes in the country. Bassist Craig Kiell joined in 2002 followed by guitarist Mick Normoyle in 2004, completing the current lineup.

The band’s setlist spans U2’s full catalog — from early tracks such as “Boy” to more recent releases like “Songs of Innocence” and beyond.

Tickets range from $39 to $59 and are available at thesuffolk.org. The Suffolk is at 118 East Main Street in Riverhead.
