WPPB 88.3 FM, with offices and a studio at 71 Hill Street in Southampton, has announced the addition of eight new members to its Board of Trustees.

“WPPB is thrilled to add these eight remarkable individuals to our Board,” said Chairman of the Board, John Landes, a Sag Harbor resident. “Their valuable experience and expertise in the areas of finance, branding/marketing, fundraising and real estate will help to secure Long Island’s Only NPR Station.”

In addition to Mr. Landes, the new members will join current trustees Bob Grisnik, treasurer Joe Porrino, Treasurer, and board president Dr. Wally Smith. The new board members are:

Aspasia G. Comnas, known as Cia, is a graduate of Vassar College and attended New York Law School, working in Admiralty law before moving to the East End and practicing law in the areas of zoning, and commercial and residential real estate before joining Sotheby’s as its senior vice president and brokerage manager. She is currently the Executive Manager/Director of Brown Harris Stevens as Executive Managing Director overseeing the company’s nine brokerage offices covering both the Southampton and North Forks of Eastern Long Island.

Rob Florio, a Southampton College graduate and founder of Hamptons Online, has worked for Hamptons Realty Associates, Ndio, Inc. — a digital media and consulting company — and is currently a licensed sales person at Sotheby’s International Realty.

Brian Halweil, an American sustainable food writer and activist, is the publisher and editor-in-chief of Edible East End, Edible Brooklyn, Edible Manhattan and Edible Long Island. Previously, Mr. Halweil was a senior fellow at the Worldwatch Institute, where his work focused on organic farming, biotechnology, hunger, seafood and rural communities.

Christine Hansen, who has worked in advertising at Wells, Rich and Green, as well as Revolon and Lane Bryant, currently runs her own branding firm consulting with a number of companies including the Gap, Victoria’s Secret, Ferragamo, Neutrogena and the Women’s Foundation.

Vicki Kahn has business experience both corporate and entrepreneurial, giving her exposure to a broad spectrum of capital sources and industries. Ms. Kahn bought and renovated the Hill Street Business Center and started the Agawam Town and Village Realty and Hamptons Virtual Office Center.

Southampton’s own Kathleen King, founded Tate’s Bake Shop, and her award winning cookies are now sold at over 10,000 gourmet retailers throughout the United States.

Liz Lesar is a financial advisor with Morgan Stanley. Amy Worth, a designer and former high school art teacher, is now the co-owner and gallery director of South Street Gallery in Greenport — where Ms. Worth has held various fundraisers for WPPB with one planned for July 2016.
