Ihor Sovtan, 54, of East Northport was charged by East Hampton Town Police with felony DWI early Friday morning. Police said Sovtan was driving a 2014 Nissan suburban on Old Montauk Highway in Montauk, moving at 52 mph in a 30-mph zone, leading to the traffic stop. He appeared intoxicated, the arresting officer reported, and failed roadside sobriety tests, after which he was placed under arrest. Sovtan refused a breath test at headquarters, leading Justice David Filer to suspend his driver’s license during a Friday noon arraignment.
