The State Assembly has passed a bill to grant official emergency rescue and first aid status to the East Hampton Volunteer Ocean Rescue and Auxiliary Squad. The designation would allow volunteers to attach green lights to their vehicles, and those of their family members or businesses, to help them respond expeditiously to emergencies on the beaches and during floods.
