Gone To Great Lengths

Your article of July 5 [“‘Crowded But Positive’ Weekend On South Fork Marred By Flouting Of Coronavirus Precautions At Montauk Bars,” 27east.com] contained misleading, harmful information.

We were assessed two minor violations, both remedied immediately, and neither of which had anything to do with safety or COVID-19-related issues.

We have gone to great lengths to ensure the health and safety of our staff and patrons, and we remain committed to ensuring that they remain securely in place. Among measures to which we are adhering are:

Masks are required to enter and when walking through the venue.

There is no general admission or bar service.

We have a maximum of 10 people at each table.

Reservations are only held for 15 minutes to avoid congestion at the entry.

No one is allowed to enter if they have or have been in contact with someone with COVID-19 or if they are experiencing symptoms of the virus.

Every patron needs to sanitize their hands when entering and to do so while at their table.

Tables are set 8 feet apart.

Small businesses like ours depend on the trust and loyalty of our patrons. As longtime members of the Montauk business community, we expect our local press to treat us with the same care and respect we provide our customers.
