Pierson Will Play Port Jeff For County ‘C’ Field Hockey Title

Pierson is the only local field hockey team that will make a postseason appearance this year. The Lady Whalers were the top-ranked Class C team in Division II this season, despite finishing with a below-.500 record at 5-9. They will play second-seed Port Jefferson (7-8) on October 30 at Patchogue/Medford High School for the county ‘C’ title at 4 p.m. Pierson played more of the top-ranked teams in the division throughout the season, and was awarded more power points because of its tougher schedule.
