The New York Marine Rescue Center will hold its annual Oceans of Hope Gala on Friday, May 3, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Long Island Aquarium. This year’s honoree is John v.H. Halsey, president of the Peconic Land Trust. The New York Marine Rescue Center is a rescue and rehabilitation organization that promotes marine conservation. Its mission is to preserve and protect the marine environment through conservation efforts, including rescue, rehabilitation, education and research.
