Sixth-Graders
Win Ice Cream Party

The sixth grade students at Springs School won an ice cream party. It was held on Friday, October 17.

The sixth-graders earned the most S.O.A.R. points, which stands for service, optimism, accountability and respect. These words help students make good choices throughout the year. Students in the sixth, seventh and eighth grades were competing for the ice cream party. Sixth grade won because they had the least broken computers, best attendance and they cleaned up every day after lunch.

At the ice cream party, before the students had their ice cream, teachers Victoria Firemark and Morgan Bock, along with a security guard named Tek, gave the students the toppings they wanted, such as rainbow sprinkles, chocolate syrup and whipped cream. Since it was a beautiful day, the kids ate their ice cream outside at picnic tables in the school’s sunny courtyard.

When sixth-grader Colin Stone was asked about his favorite part of the ice cream party, he stated, “hanging out with my friends.”

The best part of the party, for many students, is they had an extra recess.
