Silvia Mannix
Silvia Mannix of East Hampton died at the Westhampton Care Center on Saturday, September 3. She was 83.
Born December 28, 1927, in Jamaica, Queens to Candido Iorio and Lucia Avalone, she was the youngest of six children. She traveled to and vacationed in the Hamptons since the age of five and for the past 40 years, Ms. Mannix has lived between Amagansett and East Hampton, managing an estate on the ocean.
She is survived by her children, Martin Mannix of Sag Harbor, James Mannix of Amagansett, Gary Mannix of Arizona, Brian Mannix of Amagansett and Karyn Mannix of East Hampton; siblings, Al Iorio of New Jersey, Norma Ferraro of Lake Grove and Emily Valentino of Virginia; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation took place on Tuesday, September 6, at Yardley and Pino Funeral Home in East Hampton. A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, September 7, at Most Holy Trinity Church in East Hampton. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
