Ihor Sovtan, 54, of East Northport was charged by East Hampton Town Police with felony DWI early Friday morning. Police said Sovtan was driving a 2014 Nissan suburban on Old Montauk Highway in Montauk, moving at 52 mph in a 30-mph zone, leading to the traffic stop. He appeared intoxicated, the arresting officer reported, and failed roadside sobriety tests, after which he was placed under arrest. Sovtan refused a breath test at headquarters, leading Justice David Filer to suspend his driver’s license during a Friday noon arraignment. Diaz, 34, who has a Montauk address, on charges of menacing with a weapon in the second degree and obstruction of governmental administration in the second degree, both misdemeanors, a little after midnight on April 28. According to police, Diaz was riding an electric bike through Carl Fisher Plaza when he stopped abruptly in front of two officers’ marked patrol cars and pulled out what appeared to be a gun, pointing it at the officers, then sped off on the e-bike. Bustamante, 33, was arrested on two felony charges, burglary in the second degree and criminal mischief in the second degree, the morning of April 23. Jennifer L. McDowell, 38, of Northwest Woods, was charged with felony aggravated DWI by East Hampton Town Police last Thursday night. Driving a 2016 Jeep on Swamp Road, McDowell lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree, police said. The first officer to respond suspected McDowell was possibly intoxicated and had her do roadside sobriety tests, which she reportedly failed.
