Sag Harbor Village Declares A State Of Emergency
Based on the severe and dangerous weather conditions existing in the Village of Sag Harbor at this time and expected to continue in the imminent future, and the existing and the anticipated problems with snow removal and other storm related work in the Village of Sag Harbor and all areas within the village, Mayor James Larocca has declared the village to be in a state of emergency.
No parking will be permitted on the streets of Sag Harbor Village during the time of this state of emergency except in cases specifically permitted by the mayor or chief of police.
The village of Sag Harbor will seek reimbursement for all storm related expenditures as appropriate from the town, county and state authorities.
The emergency order took effect at 9 a.m. Saturday and will continue for five days unless otherwise amended, modified or rescinded or upon declaration of the mayor that the emergency no longer exists, whichever occurs sooner.
Town of East Hampton Urges Residents To Prepare For Snowstorm
UPDATE: January 28, 3:30 p.m.
National Weather Service predicts heavy snow and strong wind gusts from Friday night through Saturday.
In advance of a winter storm predicted to hit the East End tonight, January, 28, the Town of East Hampton has declared that all town facilities will be closed on Saturday, January 29.
COVID-19 testing at the East Hampton Town Center for Humanity in Wainscott will also be closed tomorrow and will resume on Monday.
Residents are urged to make preparations for the storm today, and be ready to stay home and off the roads.
The Highway Department is ready for the storm and will be plowing roads, so please avoid travel both for your safety in whiteout and slippery conditions, and to allow plows to operate.

East Hampton Town Supervisor Peter Van Scoyoc, Town Emergency Preparedness Coordinator, Bruce Bates, and EH Town Highway Superintendent Steve Lynch are coordinating storm response efforts, and will issue public alerts and notifications as needed through local media, the town website at EHamptonNY.gov, and through East Hampton Town’s Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram feeds.
