B-CAWZ Art Exhibition

Description:

SHOWCASING- PAINTINGS, SCULPTURES & HANDWOVEN RUGS

“The famous Gerhard Richter quote, 'Art is the highest form of hope', is the perfect way to describe B-CAWZ. An exhibit that features art that truly makes a difference. Dandelion, a social impact company, saw a way to financially improve the lives of artisans around the world through the coalescing of the thousand-year-old rug weaving tradition with creations from renowned contemporary artists. The artists selected wanted to be part of a cause that changes lives and we, as a gallery, wanted to be part of that journey as well. B-CAWZ. The alignment of talent and humanity is a beautiful thing.” Andrea McCafferty & Kat O’Neill (Co-Owners & Directors)

DANDELION is the first social impact rug company that specializes in creating limited edition handmade art rugs. We collaborate with fine artists to transfer their incredible art into a new medium - a handwoven rug. A DANDELION piece is an investment like fine art and can appreciate in value as the artist ascends in his or her career. Collectors can experience art through a new perspective that uniquely adds to the beauty within their home, in the form of a handmade rug. All natural. Non toxic. Better for the environment, the home and the world. Started in 2014, founders Matthew Sullivan and John Madtes created DANDELION to help artisans in Afghanistan and India. Rug weaving, a thousand-year-old tradition is a major source of revenue, especially in isolated regions of Afghanistan and India. DANDELION recognizes the opportunity for artisans and aims to double the artisan salary through a social impact fund, which is contributed to at each sale. Our goal is to economically empower thousands of disenfranchised artisans in both Afghanistan and India.
