LongHouse Reserve welcomes parents with children of all ages for Family Day, a free outdoor event to discover the beauty inside our 16-acres. Family Day will offer curated activities representative of LongHouse’s connection with art, nature, and design. The four activities are gentle family yoga (max 12 people), an art workshop, wildlife presentation, and family treasure hunt.
Gentle family yoga will be instructed by local yogis’ and requires all children to be accompanied with an adult and their own mat. Aaron Goldschmidt is the founder of Shine/NY and host of the art activity that will double as a take home souvenir. Cara Fernandes is the program director at Quogue Wildlife Reserve and is bringing a live owl and surprise guest as accompaniment for the wildlife presentation. The Hand in Hand Family Treasure Hunt happens simultaneously throughout the day and tasks children to find a sculpture and answer questions. All are welcome to leave activities as they please or spend the full scheduled time there.
Ticket entries are set for 75 minute visits and are timed for 10:00AM, 11:30AM, and 1:00PM. Please remember that everyone older than 2 needs to wear a mask.
