Students aged 15 and older are invited to join us at The Church for a protest-poster printmaking workshop led by artist-in-residence Tabitha Arnold! Utilizing the American French Tool etching press that resides on the studio floor of The Church, participants will have the opportunity to design and print their own unique posters using a reductive monotype printmaking process!
The monotype is defined as a one-of-a-kind impression made when ink or paint has been manipulated on a plate (often plexiglass) and then run through a press with paper. This results in a unique and often surprising mirror image transferred to the paper. All materials will be provided, along with assistance from printmakers Samuel Havens and Susan Bachemin, who will be facilitating the workshop and handling the press.
