LongHouse Landscape Legends: Lecture, Lunch, Laud

Description:

LongHouse, created by Jack Lenor Larsen, is a venue that merges art, nature, and history, fostering discussions about the impact of landscapes on our lives. This year's program features presentations from four landscape experts: Beka Sturges will discuss her projects for the Georgia O’Keefe Museum and Storm King Art Center; Susannah Drake will present her work at Taliesin West; Deborah Nevins will describe the 40-acre park at the Stavros Niarchos Cultural Center; and Mary Miss, recipient of the Larsen Landscape Award, will overview her projects including Greenwood Pond: Double Site. The event includes a Friday evening reception, garden walks, a luncheon, and a special exhibition of local artists' work.

The event begins on Friday, September 6, at 5:00 PM with a reception, followed by presentations from Beka Sturges and Susannah Drake from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 18 James Lane, East Hampton. On Saturday, September 7, activities start with a 10:00 AM reception, followed by talks from 10:30 AM to noon and an award luncheon. Deborah Nevins and Mary Miss will present on Saturday. The morning program will take place at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, while the luncheon, garden tour, and afternoon exhibition of fine and decorative arts will be hosted at LongHouse Reserve.
