Description:

NORTHEAST INDIGENOUS BEADWORK
WeeTahMoe, a Shinnecock artist, first learned to design & sew using seed beads
leather from her mother. She will demonstrate various beadwork sewing techniques
such as loomwork for belts and rosette sewing for necklaces.
HISTORIC MUSIC
Max is a 1800's historical musician specializing in maritime, minstrel,
Appalachian and other regional genres, His demonstration will include the playing of period-appropriate instruments such as banjos, concertina & button accordion.
SCRIMSHAW
This art of engraving on whale ivory or baleen originated with American sailors on
whaling ships. A hands-on activity provides the opportunity to create scrimshaw on
soap.
