Peter Spacek is a celebrated East End artist and waterman, as well as the illustrator for The Star’s weekly publication. He is a pioneer of a new style of scrimshaw, breathing life into an ancient technique for the modern era, etching into the surface of discarded surfboards as opposed to whale bone. This exhibition is a powerful collection of color and form: wave-charging resin panels, scrimshaw detailed fish rendered from discarded surfcraft, and prints and apparel with Peter’s iconic imagery.
