Quogue Authors in Conversation: Alexandra Andrews and Jessica Grose

Description:

New York Times opinion writer Jessica Grose joins Quogue resident and bestselling novelist Alexandra Andrews in conversation as part of the Quogue Library Summer Series.

Jessica Grose is the author of Screaming on the Inside: The Unsustainability of American Motherhood, which weaves together Grose’s personal journey with scientific, historical, and contemporary reporting. She dismantles 200 years of unrealistic parenting expectations empowering today’s women to make choices that actually serve themselves, their children, and their communities. Critics have called the book “fierce, timely, unflinching, thoughtful and revelatory.” People Magazine cites it as one of the best books of 2023. Grose is also the author of two novels Soulmates and Sad Desk. In addition to her popular New York Times newsletter on parenting, Grose also writes about women’s health, culture, politics, and grizzly bears.

Alexandra Andrews’ debut novel, Who is Maud Dixon, was named the New York Times' best mystery novel of the year, and best book of the year by TIME, NPR, Publishers Weekly and others. She is currently working on her second novel.

Their conversation will be followed by a Q&A and reception with book sales and signing. $10 per person.
