Boy Scout Troop 483 Announces Drive thru Food Drive
Helping the East End Community during the COVID-19 Crisis
Hampton Bays, NY—
Saturday April 24th, 2021 9:00am until 4:00pm
Boy Scout Troop 483 will once again be mobilizing to support the St. Rosalie’s Church Food Pantry, with our Drive Thru Food Collection in the parking lot of St. Rosalie’s Church. The Drive Thru Food Drive will provide a safe socially distant way for the Community to help support the Food Pantry as it helps to support 1,400 local families during this unprecedented COVID-19 crisis.
Boy Scout Troop 483 has been helping to support the St. Rosalie’s East End Food Pantry for many years. In 2019 the Scouts collected 12,300 pounds (over 6 tons) of non-perishable food for the Pantry. In 2020 due to the COVID-19 Crisis they were still able to collect 5,000 pounds of Food. The Scouts have researched what Scout Troops from around the Nation have been doing to run food drives during the COVID-19 crisis and setting up Drive Thru Food Collection points has been phenomenally safe & successful. Simply drive up and pop your trunk and the Scouts will come over and pick up your donation, you don’t even need to get out of your car.
This will be the Scouts 2nd Drive Thru Food Drive for 2021 and the needs have never been greater! Please pick up a few extra canned food items on your next Grocery shopping trip and simply drop them off at our Drive Thru Food Drive in the St. Rosalie’s Parking lot this coming Saturday from 9:00AM to 4:00PM
The Scouts Drive thru canned food drive will allow them to provide much-needed support once again for the Food Pantry as it tries to support those in need in our Community.
Right now, they really need non-perishable staple food items like Pasta, Beans, Rice, Canned Food, Tuna, Soup, Chili, Canned Meats, Canned Fruits and Vegetables, Breakfast Cereal, Oatmeal, Powdered Milk, Baby Food, Peanut Butter and Jelly. The St. Rosalie’s Food Pantry is supported by all the Church’s in Hampton Bays as the central location for Food Distribution to those in need.
