Designed for experienced and beginning songwriters alike.
The WHBPAC Songwriter’s Intensive is a 6-week workshop focusing on the art and craft of writing songs. In the creative and supportive environment of the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center, participants will be encouraged to write and share their songs with a group of like-minded writers of different levels.
For new writers, we will give them the opportunity to learn from the group and give them the tools to develop their own voices in song. For writers who attended our fall session, we will build upon the skills they developed in our fall session but we will focus on helping them to take songwriting to the next level.
The program will be individualized based on each writer’s experience. We will work with developing lyrics, melodies and chord structures. Additionally we will look at licensing, copyrights, performance rights organizations and discuss the different ways artists can monetize their songs.
There will be performance opportunities available at the end of the semester.
